The park is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) in the north-west corner of Lancashire, with the Cumbria Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, historic towns and coastal resorts, all within easy reach. You will never be ‘stuck’ for somewhere to go even on those rainy days.

Set midway between Silverdale and Carnforth (about 2 miles to either) and close to Warton Village (less than a mile), we are ideally located since the historic city of Lancaster is 11 miles away and Kendal, a lovely market town, is 20 miles to the north. Arnside, a quaint seaside town, is about 6 miles.

Nearby Carnforth has several large stores (Tesco and Booths) and after you have done your shopping, the highly-popular Carnforth Railway Station and Exhibition Centre is worth a visit (and a cup of coffee) with its famous clock from the film “Brief Encounter” – you can watch the film for free in the centre.

The historic city of Lancaster has a very attractive shopping centre, 12th century Castle and the Priory and Parish Church of St Mary, founded in 1094, among many other historical sites. Check out the Ashton Memorial and nearby Butterfly House which overlook the whole area from Williamson Park.

The seaside town of Morecambe with its magnificent views of the Lake District (on a clear day) is around 10 miles away. While you are there “say hello” to Eric Morecambe, whose memorial statue brightens up the magnificent promenade with its popular Stone Jetty.

Half an hour or so to the north is the beautiful Lake District National Park and take a similar drive to the east and you can explore the famous Yorkshire Dales. Don’t miss the White Scar Caves at Ingleton.

A little nearer are the tourist attractions, quaint shops and facilities of the historic towns of Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale where the ‘Devil’s Bridge’ attracts many visitors, especially at weekends.

Look out for the KilnIf you fancy a drive to Blackpool the M6 takes you right there in under an hour. Enjoy the world-famous Tower complex and get the thrill of your life on the top-class rides at ‘Pleasure Beach’.

Oh, and watch out for the remains of the kiln (left) along the coast road from the park to nearby Silverdale. There is so much to see all around.
